Job Description Summary

Summary: Provide organizational support and coordination for all Tax Department functions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support all tax compliance functions
  • Support VP of Tax, Management team, and Tax accountants as needed
  • Manage calendar and schedule meetings for VP of Tax
  • Arrange travel itineraries, accommodations, and logistics for VP of Tax
  • Prepare and process expense reports for VP of Tax
  • Prepare Resale Certificates issued to vendors and maintain log
  • Review and validate incoming sales tax exemption certificates and update customer records as needed
  • Scan/File/Organize Sales Tax exemption certificates
  • Prepare spreadsheets/copies/faxes/ scan as required
  • Research tax issues as presented by staff
  • Update, maintain and proactively monitor tax due date checklists for income/sales/property taxes
  • Copy and process income/sales/property tax returns including but not limited to submitting check requests, mailing returns with appropriate payments and tracking such mailings, and properly filing tax department copies of said returns/ and payments
  • Stamp, sort, log and distribute incoming/outgoing mail including certified mail and FedEx
  • Order department supplies/arrange or confirm travel arrangements/meetings
  • Maintain tax files (sorting, filing, labels, etc.)
  • Special projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Four-year undergraduate degree in business administration or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years of administrative experience in a corporate setting
  • Dependable, motivated, and self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be highly organized
  • Intermediate MS Office skills
  • Team player
  • Punctuality, professionalism, attention to detail, service-oriented attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work overtime as required

Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job.  Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.  All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.

Base Pay Range: $16.76 - 23.04
