Job Description Summary
Sunbelt Film & TV is looking for a Film Equipment Technician to join us. With offices across the country, Sunbelt Film & TV services productions of all sizes from coast to coast and houses an extensive state-of-the-art inventory. Our job is to help bring the magic of storytelling to life, by supporting our clients as their go-to Partners in Production.
To better serve the production industry’s growing ambitions, our Winnipeg team is looking for the perfect candidate to join us in the role of Film Equipment Technician. This is a full-time, permanent position located in Winnipeg, Manitoba and the general hours of work Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm). This position reports to the Branch Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot triaged equipment problems related to lighting, grip, power and location equipment to determine the source of the issue and take corrective action to repair the problem
- Process equipment in a safe and efficient manner to meet manufacturer’s specifications
- Perform required repairs to warehouse gear and associated accessories including but not limited to stands, grip gear, distribution and location equipment supplies
- Assess active equipment inventory levels and work with the Branch Manager and Shop Supervisor to assess the needs and priorities of all warehouse maintenance
- Advise management of equipment defects, damage and / or any customer concerns arising from equipment issues or counts
- Pull orders, load and unload trucks, as required by Shop Supervisor and / or Branch Manager
- Ensure parts / maintenance inventory are accurately accounted for
- Other duties as required from time to time
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience with film equipment repairs
- Mechanical knowledge and experience
- Ability to learn and work with film-specific rental & parts inventory software program
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Electrical knowledge and experience an asset
- Electronics experience an assetF
- Further training will be provided to the accepted candidate
